Wander down the street from our Kingston Park retreat, or head 2.5 km south of our Jetty Road retreat to find a real gem: Nest café, nestled between the cliff face and water’s edge at Brighton Caravan Park. Breakfast, brunch and lunch are excellent.

Start the day by getting the  endorphins pumping by joining the Brighton Run Club for a trot along the beachfront.

The club meets at 6.25 am on Mondays and Fridays at Brighton Jetty, with 5km and 3km runs available and coffee with new friends at the Brighton Jetty Bakery afterwards.

If you’re after a good quality evening meal, the family-run Beach Pit is just across the road from our Jetty Road retreat.

It has a varied menu of good meals and is locally renowned for its excellent pizza. Dine in or takeaway available.

Many of our guests are keen to explore local wineries, particularly the McLaren Vale region which is less than half an hour from our retreats. Our trusted wine tour partner, Perfect Day Tours, is run by a local family and is well known for its personalised, friendly service.

Trek across ancient cliffs with ocean views stretching into the forever horizon with one of South Australia’s most impressive short coastal walks starting just metres from the our Kingston Park retreat (and a short drive from our Jetty Road retreat).

The Hallett Cove Boardwalk has cafes for refreshment at start and finish and is a moderately strenuous walk, but well worth the effort.

For those who are excited by the great outdoors, there’s a fantastic open space precinct just ten minutes south of our retreats. Glenthorne National Park and Happy Valley Reservoir form a nature reserve of around 1,000 hectares, linked by walking trails, but presented quite separately. Both have many kilometres of walking and biking trails, while Glenthorne National Park has South Australia’s largest nature-themed playground and Happy Valley Reservoir is a place are guaranteed to see kangaroos in the wild, an ideal spot to take international guests.

A great little cafe located on Jetty Road, Brighton, just a minute’s walk from our Brighton retreat. The menu suits those who are after something light and healthy with plenty of salads, smoothies and other bowls of goodness. It’s open every day from 7.00 am to 3.00 pm.

This laid back, community-focused club is a short walk from our Kingston Park retreat and 2 km south of our Brighton, retreat. It includes a great beach bar and restaurant which has a wide variety of dishes. The club itself offers a range of water sports lessons which visitors may be able to take advantage of.
